Pelvic-ReconstructionPelvic reconstruction is a surgical treatment to fix uterine prolapse, cystocele, rectocele, enterocele, and associated urinary incontinence. Pelvic reconstructive surgery is typically performed as a minimally invasive procedure or a traditional “open” surgery depending on the reason for pelvic reconstruction. Potential pelvic reconstruction patients include those with:
  • Cystocele, Rectocele, or Enterocele: These are a type of hernia where the bladder, rectum or intestines protrude into the vagina.
  • Stress Incontinence: urine leakage induced by a stressor (laughing, coughing, sneezing, etc.)
  • Uterine Prolapse: descent of the uterus into the vagina
